Social Farming - Sturts Farm

working-with-cowsSocial farming encompasses our vision to open up our facilities for the benefit of the local community. This can mean local people buying our produce, volunteering on the farm or market garden, or utilizing one of our allotment spaces.

The 90 acre farm is a Biodynamic farm, meaning it is viewed as a whole organism and is worked and cared for in as sustainable and harmonious way as possible. It is a mixed farm, with cows, sheep, pigs and hens. We try to grow as much of our own fodder as possible. We also grow field vegetables, such as potatoes, pumpkins, cabbages, etc.

The farm offers a range of opportunities for meaningful and fulfilling engagement, including day placement opportunities for adults who have learning difficulties.
